Bourbon, Birdies and Barbeque

When I was asked to plan Keith's 60th Birthday Party,
the first thing I asked was "What does he like?"
The answer was awesome!
Keith likes Golf, Southern Food and Maker's Mark and so, I made the theme:
"Bourbon, Birdies and Barbeque"
To ensure that the party had a masculine feel, the design was burlap, aged wood, chalkboard and an occasional green thrown in for the golf!
One of the most interesting and challenging parts of this event was the location.  The neighborhood clubhouse offered us an outdoor pavilion (mainly used for children's birthday parties and camps) and an indoor multipurpose room.

I saw the pavilion as a great opportunity for something unique.  We added draping and uplighting.  In addition to high bistro tables, custom mini-golf holes were brought in and purposefully curved around the poles of the pavilion.  The finished pavilion was a unique spin on cocktail hour!

Guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while trying to score a hole in one.  On each cocktail table were prizes for the guests that included sets of Maker's Mark Golf Tees.
Outside the pavilion, we offered our guests the chance to enter the Longest Drive Competition.  Throughout the night, guests entered the inflatable golf range and had their golf swing measured for distance.
The winner of the longest drive competition won a large bottle of Maker's Mark while the runners-up received sleeves of Maker's Mark Golf Balls!
Guests also enjoyed an Astonishment Artist who entertained during the cocktail hour
A characture artist drew all the guests and made a special drawing of the guest of honor for everyone to sign.
After cocktail hour finished, everyone was invited inside the clubhouse to enjoy Southern Barbeque with an elegant flare!
I transformed the Multipurpose room (which had primarily been used as a gym) into seating for 70 guests.
To maintain a masculine feel, hydrangea centerpieces were created inside wooden barrels to mimic the barrels of bourbon.
While the guests were enjoying dinner, we transitioned the Pavilion for dessert and dancing, with a 5 piece band.

The dessert table offered guests a custom Maker's Mark Cake and Kentucky Bourbon Balls
After hours of dancing, guests received mini bottles of Makers Mark
and Custom Cookies designed to look just like the guest of honor's golf bag!
No matter if you had a taste for golf or enjoyed an aged bourbon, everyone had a fabulous time!

Corporate Event - Custom Touch

In this past week, I've been asked to help with some business events.  So often business events can be stagnant, I love being able to provide my clients with a custom look that will keep their event fresh and unique and have their clients coming back for more!

I was thrilled to work with Apartments.com again.  They were sponsoring the dessert course for a large networking dinner.  I designed and created over 180 cupcake toppers to add to the pre-ordered cupcakes.  It added a unique flair, and the corporate logo, to the sweet treats.

Kara Cozier, of Life Sanity, hired me to help with her Essential Oils Event.  During the event, her guests were going to learn about and create their own products for their home using essential oils.  Kara was looking for a unique way to send her attendees home with the recipes used during the event.
Kara provided me with over 12 recipes and I created tented recipe stands.  Each page had a unique design, the instructions, and the Oily Angels Custom logo.  The back of the tents featured logo as well.
If you are a part of the Oily Angels team, you can purchase sets here

If not, please feel free to contact me, I'd love to create recipe tents for your business!
